EvoraWise is an event management platform available as a mobile application (Android and iOS) and a website. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly. This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the EvoraWise app and website, regardless of how you access or use the Service.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Service. By creating an account or using EvoraWise, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.

- Account Information: Full name, email address, password (hashed), and optional profile photo when you create an account.
- Profile Information: Phone number, organization name, job title, and bio that you voluntarily add to your profile.
- Event Information: Event details you create or manage, including event name, description, date, time, location, attendee lists, and event preferences.
- Communications: Messages, inquiries, and feedback you send to us through the app, email, or contact forms.
- Payment Information: If applicable, billing details required to process payments (handled securely by third-party payment processors — we do not store full credit card numbers).
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Usage Data: Pages viewed, features used, time spent on the app, crash logs, and interaction patterns.
- IP Address: Your Internet Protocol address, used for security, analytics, and approximate geolocation.
- Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on our website to maintain sessions and analyze usage.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
If you sign in using a third-party service (e.g., Google, Apple), we may receive your name, email address, and profile picture as authorized by you during the sign-in process.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- Provide & Operate the Service: Create and manage your account, process event registrations, and deliver core functionality.
- Personalization: Tailor content, event recommendations, and user experience based on your preferences and usage.
- Communication: Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, event reminders), and optional marketing communications (with your consent).
- Analytics & Improvement: Analyze usage trends, diagnose technical issues, and improve our Service.
- Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.
4. Third-Party Services & Data Hosting
EvoraWise relies on trusted third-party service providers to host, store, and process your data. We carefully select providers that maintain high standards of security and privacy.
Appwrite (Authentication & User Data)

We use Appwrite as our backend-as-a-service platform to manage user authentication, account data, and session management. When you create an account, sign in, or manage your profile, your data is processed and stored on Appwrite's secure cloud infrastructure.
Data stored on Appwrite includes: Your email address, hashed password, account metadata, session tokens, and profile information.

Convex (Real-Time Database & Application Data)

We use Convex as our real-time database and backend platform to store and sync application data including events, attendee information, bookings, and user-generated content.
Data stored on Convex includes: Event details, RSVPs, attendee lists, user preferences, booking records, and any content you create within the app.
Convex provides encrypted data storage, automatic backups, and secure API access. For more information, see Convex's Privacy Policy.
We may also use additional third-party services for analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), push notifications, crash reporting, and email delivery. Each third-party provider processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your data only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: With Appwrite, Convex, and other trusted providers who process data on our behalf to deliver the Service (as detailed in Section 4).
- Event Organizers & Attendees: If you RSVP to or attend an event, the event organizer may see your name and email. If you organize an event, attendees may see your name and event details.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental request.
- Safety & Fraud Prevention: To protect the rights, property, or safety of EvoraWise, our users, or the public.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your data would be transferred to the successor entity.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Specifically:
- Account Data: Retained for the duration of your account. When you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Event Data: Event records you created are retained for up to 12 months after the event date for your reference, then automatically archived or deleted.
- Usage & Analytics Data: Retained in anonymized/aggregated form for up to 24 months for product improvement purposes.
- Legal Holds: Data may be retained longer if required for legal, tax, or regulatory compliance.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Secure password hashing (bcrypt/argon2) — we never store plaintext passwords
- Role-based access controls and least-privilege principles
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Secure API authentication and token management via Appwrite
- Automatic backups and disaster recovery via Convex
While we strive to protect your information, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication when available.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data and account (see Section 9).
- Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Opt-Out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or your account settings.
- Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

9. Account Deletion
You have the right to delete your account and all associated personal data at any time. You can do this by:
- Visiting the Delete Account page on our website
- Using the "Delete Account" option in the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account
- Emailing us at privacy@evorawise.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request"
Upon deletion, your account data is permanently removed from Appwrite and Convex within 30 days. This includes your profile information, event history, and all user-generated content. This action is irreversible.
10. Children's Privacy
EvoraWise is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such data as soon as possible. 11. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own through our service providers (Appwrite and Convex). These providers operate globally and may store data on servers located in the United States and other regions. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses and compliance with applicable data protection frameworks (including GDPR and CCPA where applicable).
12. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to:
- Essential Cookies: Required for the Service to function (e.g., authentication sessions).
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how users interact with our Service.
- Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may impact the functionality of the Service. Our mobile app does not use cookies but may use device-level identifiers for analytics and push notification delivery.
